Markie-X uses separate providers for text and image generation.

Text generation runs on the configured LLM — by default Google Gemini, with OpenAI and Anthropic reachable through a single OpenRouter gateway when enabled. Admins control which models are available via the Model Whitelist, and set per-model credit rates.

Images

Rough sketches, finished key visuals and storyboard frames all render with Gemini 2.5 Flash Image. Storyboard frames reference the ones before them, so characters and settings stay consistent from shot to shot.

Each image API is a synchronous call, so the studio runs them in the background and reveals the images as they finish — you're never blocked waiting.
